Program Description

Event Details

Join us to discuss The Berlin Airlift: The Cold War Mission to Save a City. Historian Ann Tusa and journalist John Tusa relay the dramatic true story of the Berlin Airlift, the first major confrontation of the Cold War. In the aftermath of World War II, Stalin and his Soviet forces cut off food and fuel supplies to Ally-controlled areas of Berlin. To save the city, the British and American militaries coordinated the first-ever airlift relief operation, flying in over two million tons of supplies to the beleaguered Berliners. The discussion will be led by Cold War Historian and Air Force veteran Chris Sturdevant.
